Jeff Nickel loves the guitar! His appreciation and understanding of the instrument are fueled by the influence of countless other passionate players--well known and obscure--to whom he owes a debt of deep gratitude. Jeff is an avid fingerstylist but emphasizes a well-rounded approach to the instrument including proper technique, basic-to-advanced theory, familiarity with various styles, and musicality in every context. In addition to understanding the guitar as a solo and personal accompaniment instrument, he "plays well with others" having led and/or been part of ensembles and bands since he began playing.

Jeff has played for over 25 years, studied music and guitar formally, and has taught extensively in private and group settings. An experienced and nuanced player, he brings a performer's perspective as well as a teacher's heart to the learning process.
